We’re Hiring – Quality Controller
Location: Thika Processing Plant
Reports to: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager
About the Role:
Kenchic PLC is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join the Quality Assurance Department. The role is responsible for conducting quality conformance checks and inspecting ingredients, raw materials, packaging materials, in-process and finished products. It ensures that all products meet food safety and quality requirements while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor quality and food safety requirements across receiving, production, storage, and dispatch.
- Conduct real-time quality checks, sampling, laboratory testing, and sensory evaluations.
- Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and timely reporting of product quality and process deviations.
- Investigate product nonconformities, handle customer complaints, and support root cause analysis with corrective actions.
- Participate in new product development including testing, reporting, and specification development.
- Conduct internal audits, monitor GMP and hygiene compliance, and ensure sanitation schedules are met.
- Manage QA programs, records, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide food safety training to staff to support a sustainable quality culture.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Food Science, Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline (bachelor’s degree is an advantage).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
- Sound knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and QMS.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
